Obituary for Anne Myrtle Foster (Mitchell)

Anne Myrtle (Mitchell) Foster
July 4, 1954- March 23, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Foster, after a short illness, surrounded by family on March 23, 2023. Anne was born on July 4, 1954, in Almonte Ontario.
Anne was the daughter to Elsie Mitchell (Drynan) and the late Lionel Mitchell, of Clayton Ontario. She was a loving mother to Trevor (Shannon) Foster. Anne was a proud Grandma to Ireland and Briar Foster.
Anne will be missed by her sisters Linda Carpenter of Clayton and Jean (Art) Laird of Clayton. Anne was predeceased by her baby sister Mitchell, her brother Gary and her grandson Foster. She was a loving Aunt to Kasey and Jason Carpenter of Carleton Place, Missy Mitchell, Ashley (Greg) Doucet of Carleton Place, Steven Laird and Amanda Laird of Brockville. Also remembered by her many great nieces and nephews. She will be missed and remembered fondly by her partner Ron Ferguson of Balderson.
Anne has many extended family and friends that will always remember her by her ongoing smile and contagious laugh. Anne was known to many in the Almonte area from the local arenas, cheering on her son and his teammates for many years. She was known to have a green thumb and could grow anything her neighbors needed and enjoyed spending afternoons searching for interesting finds in the local flea markets.
Anne had a career for many years and made many friends at Digital in Kanata. She continued her retirement, working at a local Natural Food Store in Almonte and continued to volunteer at the Lanark Food bank and Thrift Shop. She couldn’t keep herself away from helping people in her communities.
A special thank you goes to the volunteers at Lanark Transportation, Nurses at the Smith Falls hospital and the Critical Care Unit at Kingston General Hospital.
A celebration for life will be held at a later date.
Anne would be pleased if donations were made to The Kidney Foundation or your local food banks.
