Obituary for Goldworth Livingston

Goldie passed away peacefully at the Hastings Manor on July 22. He will be sadly missed by Mary, his wife of 76 years; his son David; his grandsons Matthew and Mark and his great-grandchildren Ella,Abigail, Jacob and Ethan.
Goldie was born in the Belleville area and grew up on a farm on the 5th of Thurlow now Harmony Road. He was pre-deceased by sister Ruth and brothers Ross and Gerald
He and Mary, along with James and Gwen Wright ran a Grocery/Meat Store (Wright's Grocery) on West Moira Street for over 40 years. Goldie was an original member and past president of the Quinte Curling Club, and an active curler until he was 90 years old. It was his favorite recreation and he greatly enjoyed the good times and lasting friendships that were made at the rink. He also loved baseball and watched all the Blue Jays games up to his death. Woodworking was another hobby he enjoyed, and he was a very active gardener, taking pleasure in starting euonymus and boxwood from cuttings.
Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held.
All friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of memories for Goldie, at the Quinte curling Club from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday August 6. In Goldie's memory, donations to a charity of choice; to Gleaners Food Bank; or to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated
