E. Monica Morris (Nee Crook) August 21, 1921-May 5, 2022
Left us reluctantly with her loving family by her side in Providence Care Hospital Kingston. Predeceased by her husband Andrew, her daughter Virginia (Robert) and her siblings Mary, Gilbert and Arthur. Monica will be greatly missed and always remembered by her children Margot (Bob), Kevin (Susan), Janet, Lesley (Bernie), Connie (Louise) and her 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A long-time resident of Campbellford, Ontario, she nursed at CMH, Hillsdale and Burnbrae Gardens Nursing Homes before retiring. She was passionate about gardening and animals, especially dogs of all breeds; she thoroughly enjoyed her years being part of St. John’s Pet Therapy programme.
It is hard to capture the essence of Monica in a few words. Appreciated for her quick wit and sense of humour, she was fiercely independent and a progressive thinker. Ahead of her time in many ways, she enjoyed lively discussions with friends and family of all ages. She was also patient, open-minded, understanding and accepting. Her family is hosting a Celebration of Life in Campbellford, which always held her heart, June 26th, at the Forrest Dennis Senior Citizens Club, 1-3 pm. Open to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
