Obituary for Evelyn Jean Farnell (Parks)

FARNELL, Evelyn (Lyn)
(nee Parks)
December 4, 1923 – November 21, 2022

Lyn died peacefully in her sleep on November 21, less than 2 weeks before her 99th birthday.
A resident of Quinte Gardens (Belleville), Lyn Farnell was predeceased by her husband, Harry in 2010.

Loving mother of Robert Farnell (Elizabeth), Brian Farnell (Basia) and Lois Farnell-Woodman (Keith). Proud grandmother of Geoff Farnell (Joanna), David Farnell (Joan), Lydia Farnell and Beth Mahoney (Jon). Great-grandmother of Amelia, Audrey, Cedar, Ainsley and Aspen. Predeceased by parents Sydney and Carrie Parks, sisters Marion Smith and Alice Storms, and brothers Morris and Everett Parks.

Lyn and Harry began their married life in Belleville on Burnham street. In 1967 Harry was transferred with Ontario Hydro to Campbellford, and they lived there till Harry passed in 2010, at which time she moved back to Belleville.

Lyn was always an active person with many interests. She was a very talented rug hooker and perfected her craft over many years. We are all so fortunate to have been gifted many of her wonderful works of art. Lyn made the best apple pies! Her sons and friends had an uncanny ability to show up when one came out of the oven. Her roast beef and Yorkshire puddings were renowned.

In accordance with Lyn’s wishes, there will not be a formal memorial service held for her. The family will have a private gathering at a later date.
