It is with a heavy heart we announce the death of James Alexander Murphy at the age of 79. He passed away at the Lennox Addington County General Hospital in Napanese following a brave battle with cancer on February 19, 2023. He was and is very loved and his presence in this form will be missed as he leaves behind many happy memories.

Jim was born in Digby, Nova Scotia but grew up in Belleville, Ontario where he escaped to live out his adventures from British Columbia to Barrie to living out his dream on his own sailboat in the Caribbean, only to return to the Belleville area, Marlbank On.

With the friendliest demeanor he was a man of many hats not just literally, but in life, there wasn't much he couldn't or wouldn't take on from building homes, to Chemical Engineer, to Real Estate agent to being a handy man helping out seniors while being a senior himself.

Predeceased by his parents, Margaret and James, sisters, Eunice(Gerry) Lois (Windy) brother Terry, and daughter Yvonne.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Dinah, children Kathaleen, William, Debi(Errol), Alana, Jeffrey(Kerrie), Amanda(Dave) and Andrew, fondly remembered by 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Jim is also survived by his sister Kathleen and brothers Ted and Andrew.

The family will receive friends at Jim's home, 20 Ann St, Marlbank On for a Celebration of Life, March 25, 2023 from 1-5. Jim was cremated and a private burial will take place at a later date.
