Obituary for John Gerald Allick

On September 11th, 2022 in Kingston General Hospital, John “Butchy” Gerald Allick took his final flight peacefully surrounded by his family.

Born September 9th, 1939 to Nick and Ingrid Allick in Kirkland Lake, ON, John was the oldest of 4. John was predeceased by his parents, brother Gord Allick, and son Gerry Allick. He is survived by his loving wife Naomi Allick (nee Hennessy), brothers Gary (Barb) and Mark (Cheryl), daughter Lianna Allick, step-children Cathy Williams (Michael) and Kevin Burns (Kimberly), granddaughters, Rebekka Stiller, Ashlee Stiller (Lucas), Mackenzie Williams, and Janessa Williams. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and many friends.

John started his career in the gold mines up in Kirkland Lake. After the mines he worked at Canada Post until his retirement in 1999. Known as an avid outdoorsman, John was a registered pilot who loved to fly, and was also known for his love of fishing and hunting.

Family will miss his humour, his tales from his hunting and fishing trips, and his willingness to help them out with any projects or trips that they needed help with.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in his memory to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. Donations can be made here.

Fly high,
Butchy
