Kelly Lee Reis has passed away at the age of 65 in Warkworth, Ontario, at the Bridge Hospice on May 9, 2022. She has left behind her three children (Jessie Shannon, Chrissy Shannon, and Corey Shannon), her husband Joe Reis, brother Kim Villneff, and many beloved friends and family.
Kelly was born March 17, 1957, and grew up on a farm in Marmora, Ontario. This homestead marked the beginning of Kelly's lifelong love of pastoral sacturaries. Kelly raised and homeschooled her three children on this farm. Later in Kelly's career as a disability support worker at Christian Horizons in Peterborough, Ontario, she found that a tranquil life in Campbellford was worth the commute to the city. Kelly worked in a program that offered horse therapy to some of her clients, which gave all participants great joy and indulged her love of horses.
Kelly was inquisitive, easy to befriend, and delightfully gullible. She adored her two granddaughters, Maelyn-Lee Shannon Duxbury and Lutéa Shannon Anderson. She was a loyal Dave Matthews Band fan, and an avid hockey spectator—preferably Habs, but really any team other than the Leafs. Kelly has left her mark on her friends and colleagues, and will be greatly missed. Kelly's family would like to thank Dr. Kelly Parks, and the team at the Bridge Hospice for their incredible care. Anyone wishing to commemorate Kelly's life may consider a donation to this facility that offers unmatchable support for palliative patients.
