Obituary for Gene Hamelin
With his family by his side, Gene passed away peacefully at PRHC in Peterborough, Ontario on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, after a long battle with Cancer. Gene was in his 73rd year.
Born July 23rd,1950 in Sweetsburg (Cowansville) Que. Beloved son of May (nee Thayer) and sisters Connie Beaton (John), Sue Gallant (Rob) and brother Jerry Hamelin (Carol). Beloved husband of 53 years to Janet Hamelin (nee Cochrane). Loving father to Julie and Cheryl Hamelin. Loving grandfather of Jordan, Jessica and Jonathan, and to great grandchildren
Keira, Stevie and Henry. Also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Pre deceased by his father Wesley Hamelin and sister Betty Clark.
Gene will be remembered well for his love of cars, cooking, motorcycles, country music, politics, and his generosity, quick wit and sense of humour. He was a great son, brother, husband, father and Grandpa.
