Robert Job Carter, beloved father, partner, and brother passed away at age 64 on April 9, 2023 in Kingston, Ontario. Bob enlisted in the Naval branch of the Canadian Armed forces in 1977 in Communications Research. He was very proud of his military service, notably his time spent at CFS Alert where he honed his Russian language skills: he would often indulge in a rousing chorus of Yellow Submarine by the Beatles in fluent Russian when asked, and sometimes even when he was not. He loved computers, good food, gaming, hockey and the Blues. He was laid back, renowned for his sense of humour and unparalleled ability to tell a story. He will be remembered for his laugh, his open mind, his ability to listen, and his unique sense of self. He is survived by his daughter Katya, his life partner Diana, his brothers Gerry (Michelle), Peter (Debbie), David (BB), Jeff (Jenna), his sisters Gloria, Noreen (Rex), Cathy (Steve), Susan and June (Diego), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A former board member for Home Base Housing, Bob had been involved in the issue of the unhoused population in Kingston. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either Home Base Housing or Partners in Mission Food Bank.
