We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Ms. Ruby Winnifred McLellan
(née Strickland), age 91, at Rideaucrest Home, Kingston ON, on December 8, 2022.
Predeceased by eight siblings she was the last of her generation. Ruby is survived by
three children of her first marriage, Larry, Alistair, and Todd. She was grandmother to
Derek, Craig, Matthew, Cassandra, and Brandon and was blessed with eight greatchildren.
Known for her zest for life and occasional feistiness, Ruby met life’s challenges with
extraordinary courage and determination.
She found contentment in her marriage to Robert McLellan and later in the solitude of
her home in Gallants NL, where she was surrounded by nature and embraced the
company of the many songbirds that visited the feeders she maintained for them. Her
favourite, grey-jays, would frequently join her as she took her morning coffee in the
porch for treats she’d feed them.
Ruby will be forever remembered by her family and friends. Interment in Corner Brook
NL will follow.
