Obituary for Stephen John Mullin

MULLIN, STEPHEN JOHN "STEVE", 64, passed away on May 2, 2022 at his home near Stirling, ON, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Stephen is survived by his high-school sweetheart and loving wife of 42 years, Ruth Anne (neƩ Richards) and their daughter, Stephanie Elizabeth (Jeremy). He is predeceased by his parents Dr. Robert Evelyn Mullin and Golda "Joyce" (nee Robinson). He leaves behind three siblings - David (Laura), Robert (Shirley), and Catherine (Brent). Stephen is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

Stephen was never happier than when he was outdoors, especially if he had his family and animals with him. He loved the family cottage, camping, taking walks in the woods, and exploring. Stephen spent much of his life in sales, which allowed him the opportunity to see much of the continent. He loved puzzles, board and card games, and a good book. He was also a horror movie buff who inherited his love of ghost stories - and of storytelling in general - from his father. He was rarely without an animal at least nearby, if not in his arms - whether it was a bird, lizard, rodent, ferret, cat, dog, or something else entirely. He had a huge heart and a warm welcoming attitude.

All are welcome to attend Stephen's celebration of life, which will be held on May 17th, 2022 at his brother Bob and sister-in-law Shirley's home at 15 Bedford Road, Stirling, ON, K0K 3E0. Please contact Shirley at 613-813-4772 for assistance with directions. Visitation will begin at 1pm, with the service at 2pm conducted by the Reverand Cheryl McMurray. Refreshments and a social time will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Peterborough Regional Healthcare Centre's oncology department, Foster Forest Wildlife Orphanage, or an animal rescue of your choice.

The family would also like to extend a sincere "Thank you" to the nurses and PSWs from the VON and Bayshore Healthcare for their wonderful care and compassion over the past few months.
